Jenna Langan pulled the plug on her marriage after Gage Marshall decided he did not want kids. However, even though she’s a divorcee and has no prospects on the horizon, she decides she still wants children. The only problem? She has no one to give them to her. One night, in a drunken haze, she and her friends concoct a plan to take advantage of Gage and use him as a donor. However, Jenna does not take into account her subconscious feelings for him. Gage, on the other hand, has seen the evil the world has to offer and does not want to bring children into such a corrupt world. He definitely does not appreciate being used to provide Jenna with the one thing that destroyed their marriage.

I love Heidi Betts’ work. The knitting theme is what drew me to this series originally. While I am not a knitter, I am most definitely a craft person. While in Loves Me, Loves Me Knot, the knitting does not take as much of a central role as it did in Tangled Up In Love, the book is still enjoyable and fun. I had looked forward to reading Jenna’s story at the end of the first book and I was not disappointed. The sparks fly between Gage and Jenna as they fight their attraction to each other. Neither one of them really wanted the divorce in the first place, but sometimes you have to lose something to find it again. And of course, Charlotte’s yarn helped weave its magic in both of their hearts.

Loves Me, Loves Me Knot is a sweet, funny and, in parts, poignant story. If you are looking for something slightly different, then pick up this book today. While it helps to have read the first book in the series, this book can be read as a standalone. In the meantime, I know I am eagerly anticipating the third book in the series, which is not due out until Spring of 2010.

Book Excerpt: “Jenna Langan knows what she wants, and as she tells her best friends after their weekly knitting group, she doesn’t need a man to give it to her…only a few of his best swimmers. And just because her marriage to undercover vice cop Gage Marshall ended badly doesn’t mean he can’t still give her the baby she’s always wanted. In fact, she’s willing to bet a couple of her favorite hand-knit boas that she can tie him up in knots he’ll definitely enjoy…

An unexpected seduction is one thing, but stud service? No, thank you. Gage had his reasons for pulling the plug on his happily ever after with Jenna, and nothing that’s happened since their divorce has changed his mind. That is, until Jenna got it into her head to tie him up and drag him down. Now he has no choice but to stick around until he knows for sure if his ex-wife is pregnant. But the more time he spends with Jenna, the more his resolve begins to unravel…”
